Why Duel Pays on EV, Not Wager
Most casino affiliate programs pay a slice of total handle. Duel's referral system pays a share of net expected value - the house edge the referred player was expected to lose, minus what Duel already returned through rakeback and leaderboard prizes.
If referrals run hot and beat mathematical expectation, net EV can turn negative. In that case the affiliate owes nothing extra to Duel, but the modeled payout can show a deficit - Duel effectively subsidized winning players and promos from the referral pool.
